HOCLOOP project partners NORCE, Reelwell AS, and the Institute for Energy Technology recently convened at NORCE’s Ullrigg Test Center to prepare for an upcoming pilot test of the HOCLOOP geothermal technology in a full-scale operation.
This phase is crucial for the HOCLOOP project, as it aims to demonstrate a safer and more efficient method of geothermal heat extraction. Ullrigg, one of the world’s most advanced onshore test centers for drilling and well technology, offers state-of-the-art facilities and expert personnel, providing an ideal environment for this significant operation. With its comprehensive infrastructure and capability to simulate real-world conditions, Ullrigg plays a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of the HOCLOOP geothermal technology.
Our preparations include thorough risk assessments, comprehensive backup solutions, and stringent safety measures to ensure the success of this geothermal demonstration.
Stay tuned for more updates on our progress with this groundbreaking geothermal energy initiative.
